How did the Salem Witch Trials effect political systems, governments, religion, and moral beliefs?
In today's society, our government has equal, more stricter rules. Some of the political issues involving the Puritan beliefs. The Salem Witch Trials gave a reason for spectral evidence in trial to be banned in court, this had not happened before. The assumption of whether or not if you were a witch is questionable. The government today, as well as the Constitution of the United States of America, declares that everyone is equal. Equal opportunities, and equal justice. To be held on a trial like the witches in the Salem Witch Trials, was a matter of not having equal rights, that everything was assumed upon.
This had contradicted moral belief''s as well. Politics, and religion seem to clash. The religious belief's such as the Puritans at the time held everything through God. The Salem Witch Trials were against God by morals, which they had practiced their own religious belief's of witch craft. It has changed religious and political views in America today because Puritans began to separate protestant sects, The Salem Witch Trials discouraged a disconnection between religion and government, this had also helped to lead to the idea of " Separation of church and state" that is included in the US Constitution. On the behalf of the religious aspects, Christian belief's are moral, and do not praise the works of the Devil. Though the Puritans were heavy believers in God, they would almost chastise anyone who did not cooperate in the works of God. The witches were prosecuted on trial for their religious practices by which the Puritans did not agree with. This affected religious views today because people are able to practice their own religious faith. However, witch craft is considered to be "un-God like". The government and religious views of today, are less worried about the idea of some one's potential of becoming a witch indulging in the practice of witch craft. Eventually over the years, America and society has benefited from this experience. America has benefited from this because of the political and religious social aspects. Overall, the outcomes became more positive, than negative.
